Welcome Dealers
How can my dealership get involved in an Automotive Safety Patch event?
The first step is to submit your dealership’s contact information through this website.
If your information was already submitted to the Safe Kids Hotline number, there is no need to re-enter the information. Please check here to ensure that your dealership’s contact information has been received.
Once your contact information has been received, it will be given to Safe Kids coalitions in your state. Individual coalitions will be responsible for contacting packs and dealerships about conducting the program locally.
You may also click here to contact a Safe Kids coalition in your area. If there is no nearby coalition listed, please contact the state coalition to see if there is a participating Safe Kids chapter near you.
What are the Dealership’s Responsibilities?
Dealerships that participate in the program are asked to provide enough indoor or outdoor space to hold the activity, vehicles for demonstrations and refreshments for the Scouts. In the pilot events, dealers provided either pizza or hot dogs and chips, and sodas for the scouts, families and Safe Kids volunteers. The dealership can also increase their exposure by assigning a staff member to educate Scouts on the safety benefits on OnStar at the OnStar station. Many dealerships also include a giveaway item for the Scouts and their parents/caregivers such as key chains or coupons for oil changes.
What are Dealers saying about the Program?
“Definitely take advantage of the opportunity to host an event like this. You can’t lose with something like this!”-- El Dorado Motors-Chevrolet, Dallas
“The event increased exposure to the community, and attendees were outside their typical demographic.”-- Cauley Chevrolet, West Bloomfield, Mich.
“Not only is it a good program and partnership for the scouts, but it brought more than 20 families into the store that we might not otherwise have seen. The door is always open for things like this. We are fortunate to have Safe Kids as a partner.” -- Miller Chevrolet, Rogers, Minn.
“Never hosted an event with a Safe Kids coalition before and thought it was a great success. Would love to partner with the local coalition again.”-- Nutley Chevrolet/Buick, Nutley, N.J.
“Fantastic. Courtney and the coalition were extremely organized, and the event ran smoothly.”-- Walker Chevrolet, Franklin, Tenn.
