Welcome Safe Kids Coalitions and Chapters
How do we conduct the Automotive Safety Patch Program?
Safe Kids has received more than 1,500 calls from Cub Scout Packs across the country interested in holding an Automotive Safety Patch event. Below you can learn how you can participate.
Connect With Dealers and Pack Leaders
Look below for a list of pack leaders and locations (by state), that have expressed interest in the program, also click below for a list of Chevrolet dealers who have expressed an interest. This database is updated weekly and has been created to facilitate matching coalitions with local packs. Local coordinators can hold as many Automotive Safety Patch events as they would like and can combine multiple packs into one event if feasible.
Application Process
The application process is done online and there is a minimum of 4 weeks lead time between application and the event date. How and when these events are held are up to the discretion of the coalition coordinator, the local pack(s) and the participating dealership, but all events are intended to be held at Chevrolet dealers.
Coalition Apply Here | Chapters Apply Here
For coalitions who have not worked with a local Chevy dealer in the past, go to http://www.chevy.com/ and select the option to locate a dealer.
Patches
Safe Kids Buckle Up will send Cub Scout Automotive Safety Patches to the participating Safe Kids coalition no later than two weeks from the event date.
Evaluation
There is no separate evaluation for Cub Scout Automotive Safety Patch events. Reporting these events should be included with the quarterly Safe Kids Buckle Up reports. However, a sign-in sheet for participating Cub Scouts must be faxed no later than 10 days after the event. Remember, only Cub Scouts can receive a patch, not siblings or other child attendees.
Toolkit
A step-by-step event toolkit has been created to assist you in conducting the program.
