This year’s theme is Make It A Safe Kids Summer.
Thanks to Johnson & Johnson, the founding sponsor of Safe Kids Worldwide, National Safe Kids Week 2007 includes research, advocacy for public policy initiatives, the distribution of safety devices and grassroots events through hundreds of Safe Kids coalitions across the nation. Summer is a deadly time of year for children and it will be here soon.
National Safe Kids Week 2007 is designed to teach the nation about what we can do to keep our children safe especially from the five leading summer risks:
Drowning- Biking and other wheeled sports
- Falls
- Pedestrian injuries
- Motor vehicle passenger injuries
This year Safe Kids created the Safe Kids U.S. Summer Safety Ranking Report, ranking each state according to its children’s accidental injury death rates in summer.

Johnson & Johnson is the founding sponsor of Safe Kids Worldwide and the annual sponsor of National Safe Kids Week.
The Make It A Safe Kids Summer Checklist is being distributed at retail outlets where Johnson & Johnson products are sold. Public education advertising is being broadcast across the nation thanks to Johnson & Johnson’s partner, The Turner Broadcasting Network, with the support of participating brands such as Johnson’s Baby®, BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive Bandages, Neosporin®, Stayfree®, Carefree®, Johnson’s Buddies, REACH toothbrushes and floss products, a freestanding insert with summer safety information will be distributed to 45 million households, and participating retailers will print safety messages in their store flyers. |
