Girl - Water SafetyThanks to Johnson & Johnson, the founding sponsor of Safe Kids Worldwide and Safe Kids USA, National Safe Kids Week 2008 includes research, advocacy for public policy initiatives, advertising, distribution of safety devices and grassroots events through hundreds of Safe Kids coalitions and chapters, and this website. 

Safe Kids USA and Johnson & Johnson are celebrating 20 years of working together to keep our children safe!

In conjunction with Safe Kids Week 2008, a report was released showing that as a nation, we have reduced the accidental injury death rate for children 14 and under by 45 percent since 1987. 

Almost 400 Safe Kids coalitions and chapters across the country are holding events for Safe Kids Week where they will educate families and children about ways to prevent accidental injuries and distribute safety devices to those in need. 

In addition, an interactive safety game for “tweens” (ages 10-13) will be launched for the coalitions to use in educating this important age group.

Johnson and JonsonJohnson & Johnson is the founding sponsor of Safe Kids Worldwide and Safe Kids USA and the annual sponsor of National Safe Kids Week. 

Three new television ads will air on Nickelodeon channels focused on safety while participating in wheeled sports and swimming activities. One features George Lopez, another the iCarly show, and the third one, the popular Avatar characters. 

A coupon insert for products offered by members of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies will feature a child safety message in newpapers on Sunday, April 27. 

In addition, many retailers will be displaying safety messages in their flyers and stores. All of this is made possible thanks to the support of Johnson & Johnson’s partner, Nickelodeon, and participating brands of members of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, such as JOHNSON’S® Baby, BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive Bandages, PURELL® Instant Hand Sanitizer, BENADRYL® Topical Products, STAYFREE® Brand Products, CAREFREE® Brand Products, LISTERINE® Antiseptic, LISTERINE® SMART RINSETM, LUBRIDERM®, and EFFERDENT®In addition, many retailers will be displaying safety messages in their flyers and stores.
