We, the undersigned, support the enactment of the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act in order to reduce the incidents of accidental child drowning in the U.S. 

Passage of this legislation will increase the safety of swimming pools and spas by:

• providing incentives for states to require lifesaving safety devices, such as anti-entrapment drain covers and safety vacuum release systems (SVRS);

• requiring a product standard for anti-entrapment drain covers so that all products available for sale meet certain safety criteria; and

• funding educational programs at the federal and state levels.
